The St Lawrence Market neighbourhood feels like a community. You see the same faces, and while you may not know everyone's name, there's definitely a feeling of recognition.
You wouldn't think that a downtown Toronto condo community could elicit this kind of feeling, but it does.
My favourite condos in the St Lawrence Market area are:
168 King Street East - King George Square - a 156 unit midrise building with smart amenities, a modern feel, nice views overlooking the market area, and considered to be one of the area's Landmark Buildings. Ideally located at the corner of King and Jarvis, this building should definitely go to the top of your shopping list when looking for a St Lawrence Market condo.
112/116 George Street - The Vu - This is one of the newer additions to the area, but one that should not be missed. A lovely, modern lobby with soaring ceiling, and a slick decor which emits a sense of pride upon entering. I've seen some well thought out layouts, and the views - unparalleled. The building is positoned in such a way that if you're lucky enough to live on a high floor, you could be overlooking St James Park, the St Lawrence Market, and north up Jarvis street- stunning. The amenities include 24 hour concierge, exercise room, a rooftop garden and visitor parking to name a few.
39 Jarvis St- The Saint James- A low rise building in the heart of the St Lawrence Market area. Often known as the "one above Second Cup" this boutique building has a low turnover rate, high resident occupancy, and reasonable maintenace fees. If you're shopping for a condo in the St Lawrence Market area, this is not one to be missed.
230 King Street East - King's Court- This landmark building has a restored bank façade and grand rotunda entrance that welcomes you and your guests. Surrounded by some swanky furniture shops, this King Street condo is ideally situated minutes from the financial core, and offers all the market area amenities. It has some truly stunning views from the higher floors, some which may disappear with the construction of King+ Condos directly south. Still, great value for your money, and a great choice when shopping for St Lawrence Market Condo.
330 Adelaide - This is what I would call a no-nonsense building. (It's actually the taller building in the picture to the right) The suites are well laid out, with generous master bedrooms, good closet space and storage, and with only a few amenities - Rooftop terrace with bbqs, an exercise room, and party room, this building has managed to keep its maintenance fees low. A sound investment in a very good location.
