Riverdale is one of Toronto's most vibrant places to live, and it's easy to see why people continue to value this neighbourhood. North Riverdale is known for its large Greek community, but also its multiculturalism. The homes north, south and bordering the Danforth are highly coveted, and have continued to do well in value. Those that have been renovated are especially desirable.
Access to transportation, shops, restaurants, good schools, parks - a perfect recipe for a neighbourhood that thrives! Those working in the city love that they can walk to the subway, or take the Broadview streetcar south, and then along King Street directly into the Financial District - Convenient!
Schools - Riverdale offer some high caliber schools - Withrow Avenue JPS, Jackman Avenue JPS, and Frankland Community school are Riverdale's three local junior public schools, all which are ranked higher than 8/10 by the Fraser Institute.
Shops - The Big Carrot for all your organic groceries, Dash Kitchen - yum, Dessa for your leather goods, Moss for all your indoor - outdoor furniture, Crema for delicious coffee, and make sure you don't miss Dolce for the best gelato (its grapefruit flavour is surprisingly great!), and so many more.
Parks - Withrow Park and Riverdale Park are 2 of the most popular. Withrow is my personal favourite throughout the year. In the summer it's alive with dog walkers, kids playing in the several playgrounds, teams playing soccer and baseball... and some of us bring our gelato and take it all in!
